Serves: 4 Time: 50 mins

  • 350g Pasta Shapes
  • Butter
  • 1 Garlic Clove Crushed
  • 1 tsp Mustard Powder
  • ½ tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 3 tbsp Plain Flour
  • 500ml Milk
  • 250g Mixed Cheese

  1. Fill a saucepan with water and bring to boil. Cook the pasta until tender.
  2. Melt the butter in another saucepan, add in the garlic and cook until softened. Add the mustard powder and cayenne pepper and cook for a further minute then add the flour and stir to make a paste, do this until the mix starts to bubble slightly.
  3. Take the pan off the heat and slowly add the milk and start whisking so the sauce doesn't become lumpy. Return to the heat and cook for a further 5 minutes until the sauce has thickened. Then add the cheeses until these have melted.
  4. Heat the oven to 180°C and then add the pasta into the sauce and mix together. Tip the pasta into a baking dish and top with additional cheese. Bake for 25 - 30 mins until golden and bubbling.
